This year, March 12 was designated as Total K Day.   John Turner and Gay Shenton organized support for the Victoria Elementary school "Spring Fling."  This consisted of a morning of fun and games for the children of the school, their families, and people from the neighborhood.  While the children played games and won prizes, tables were set up for the adults to learn more about what is available in the community in terms of child health services, renter's rights, First Aid classes from the Red Cross, and social services.  The children were especially interested in touring the EMT ambulance and the fire engine provided by the San Bernardino Fire Department.

The Victoria Elementary School is truly a neighborhood school and its students represent a cross section of the community.  The Principal, teachers and the community are dedicated to making the  school serve the educational needs of all of its students.  Many of the parents serve as classroom assistants.  There are many programs available to help those with special needs.
